Dance Downtown 90’s Night
Friday nights during the summertime in Los Angeles Grand Park, the Music Center presents Dance DTLA! This Friday happened to be the final event of 2018 and the theme was 90’s Night!
The scene is set at the base of LA’s City Hall
Hundreds of people came out to listen to their favorite 1990’s jams play on under the Los Angeles night sky and the illuminated lanterns. The evening began with a few dance lessons where a choreographer taught a whole Backstreet Boys dance routine that included the Running Man, New Kids on the Block shuffle, M.C. Hammer dance and other boy band essential moves.
The dance participants caught on fast and put on quite the show all dancing in sync to “I Want You Back”. After the lesson and a couple of run-throughs, we were all pumped for some independent dancing to some classics including Madonnas “Vogue”, Daft Punk’s “Around the World”, Spice Girls “Wannabe”, C+C Music Factory’s “Everybody Dance Now” and Paula Abdul’s “Opposites Attract”! We were in second heaven!

The night was perfect! We danced for hours on end barely wanting to take any breaks. The DJ just played one good one after the next. (At least for this nostalgic crowd!)
