Ogopogo Brewery

Nestled nearby in the heart of San Gabriel, CA is the Ogopogo Brewing Company!

Newly opened in early 2019 this location is super close to home on Commercial Ave off of San Gabriel Blvd. This industrial building sits at the end of a dead end and parking is plentiful (at least when we visited on a Sunday afternoon.)

We were welcomed in by 2 smiling bartenders who were happy to find out it was our first visit in. They offer $7 flights which include four 4oz. tasters so I took advantage and described a couple of favorites including Belgium beers, Oktoberfest and IPA’s. We took drinks outside onto the patio, since it was a 75 degree day and I have to say the beers were nice and cold, full of flavor and I loved every one! Cheers!

The Bar Scene

Above us were decorative umbrellas lined with rows of lights, that are sure to make for some beautiful ambiance after the sun goes down. The simplistic wooden tables and benches made for easy seating, but I almost expected a toss across set up or shuffleboard to entertain the crowd. In fact, games would have been a great idea in general and next time we go, I will be sure to pack one of my own!

Inside at the bar, I tried a hazy IPA which was super delicious, but also super filling. We enjoyed watching patrons talking to the bartender about different beers and what kind they enjoy. Everyone was extremely warm and friendly and we could see this place becoming an easy hang out for us (especially if we bring games!)

Outside of the front door they were setting up a grilling station for tacos and grilled veggies and the delicious smells were already wafting in as we were walking out. If we didn’t have groceries at home to prepare tonight, we might have just stayed for a feast there. (Next time!)

So many choices…

I liked the vibe of this place, the indoor and outdoor seating, the helpfulness of the employees and the potential this Brewery has in this little neighborhood. So I am hoping to get the word out, and let everyone know so if you like Golden Road Brewery, Angel City Brewery in Los Angeles or Mount Lowe Brewery in Arcadia - you have to check out Ogopogo Brewing next!

Cheers!
